    Este artículo describe la necesidad de detectar el distress emocional a través de un cribado por parte del colectivo de enfermería del Servicio de Radioterapia del Hospital Del Meixoeiro mediante dos sencillos test ultra-rápidos: termómetro distress y termómetro de impacto.

    Más de la mitad pacientes con angustia significativa no son identificados. El fracaso al detectar y tratar esta problemática trae consecuencias negativas para el paciente, la familia, su entorno y su pronóstico vital ya que deriva en un mayor sufrimiento, una menor calidad de vida, dificultad para tomar decisiones sobre el tratamiento, poca adherencia al tratamiento, insatisfacción con la atención y visitas adicionales de consultas.

    This article describes the need to detect emotional distress through screening by the nursing team of the Radiotherapy Service of Hospital Del Meixoeiro using two simple ultra-rapid tests: distress thermometer and impact thermometer.

    More than half patients with significant distress are not identified. Failure to detect and treat this problem has negative consequences for the patient, the family, their environment and their vital prognosis since it results in greater suffering, a lower quality of life, difficulty making decisions about treatment, and poor adherence to treatment. , dissatisfaction with care and additional consultation visits.
