    El celador es un profesional que desempeña un papel fundamental y esencial en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI). Sus funciones son variadas y esenciales para garantizar la seguridad, la eficiencia y la humanización de la atención sanitaria.

    Es el responsable de preparar el entorno para las movilizaciones de los pacientes, de transportar a los pacientes y de proporcionarles apoyo y tranquilidad durante el proceso. Todo ello se debe de realizar de forma cuidadosa y metódica teniendo en cuenta las necesidades específicas del paciente, observando cualquier alteración, anomalía o sintomatología que denote alteración de su estado.

    A su vez, el celador debe de tener en cuenta su salud, por ello debe utilizar la técnica adecuada de levantamiento y transporte para evitar lesiones al paciente.
