Les formulacions de relacions temporals del búlgar i l’espanyol en principi poden ser coincidents i per aquesta raó les formes verbals corresponents són equiparables en llurs significats bàsics i en no pocs de perifèrics.Però el sistema búlgar, a diferència de l’espanyol, es basa en l’oposició testimonial / no-testimonial dintre del mode indicatiu, que és de carácter evidencial: les formes de passat són testimonials i les de no-passat són neutres.El perfet, per la seva neutralitat testimonial, ha estat la base per al desenvolupament històric d’una sèrie de formes evidencials (mode conclusiu, formes narratives, formes dubitatives) que no té l’espanyol. Per tant, en aquest nivell ambdós sistemes no són comparables.

The formulations of temporal relationships in Bulgarian and Spanish can in principle coincide and for this reason the corresponding verb forms are comparable in their basic meanings and not a few peripherical ones.But the Bulgarian system, unlike the Spanish one, is based on the witnessed / non-witnessed opposition within the indicative mood, which is evidential: past forms are witnessed and non-past forms are neutral.Perfect, due to its witness neutrality, has been the basis for the historical development of a series of evidential forms (conclusive mood, narrative forms, doubtful forms) wich Spanish lacks.Therefore, at this level both systems are not comparable.
