Resumen de ¿Presupone el determinismo clásico la reversibilidad temporal?

Este trabajo intenta delimitar dos cuestiones que algunos físicos y filósofos han tratado conjuntamente: el debate sobre el estatuto de la irreversibilidad temporal y el problema del determinismo (especialmente en la versión laplaciana). Para ello, tras una presentación del problema, se comienza exponiendo cómo surgió el concepto de irreversibilidad, el debate posterior sobre su estatuto y su conexión con el problema del determinismo. A continuación, se exponen las críticas de Ilya Prigogine al determinismo basándose en el concepto de irreversibilidad. Finalmente, se expone la tesis determinista tal como fue formulada por Laplace en 1814, atendiendo a su contexto y fundamentos, para mostrar que no está vinculada al concepto de reversibilidad temporal.

This paper attempts to delimit two questions that some physicists and philosophers have dealt with together: the debate on the status of temporal irreversibility and the problem of determinism (especially in the Laplacian version). For this purpose, after a presentation of the problem, we begin by explaining how the concept of irreversibility arose, the subsequent debate on its status and its connection with the problem of determinism. Then, we present Ilya Prigogine’s criticisms of determinism based on the concept of irreversibility. Finally, the deterministic thesis as formulated by Laplace in 1814 is presented, taking into account its context and foundations, in order to show that it is not linked to the concept of temporal reversibility.
