    Paul Grammont desarrolló la prótesis inversa de hombro solucionando los problemas obtenidos con las prótesis anteriores, ya que permitía medializar y descender el centro de rotación articular.

    Ésta supuso una opción de tratamiento para pacientes con rotura masiva irreparable del manguito rotador, puesto que por su biomecánica permite aumentar el brazo de palanca del deltoides, favoreciendo su activación, intentando así suplir la función del manguito.

    Es importante comenzar cuanto antes el tratamiento rehabilitador tras la cirugía para poder obtener resultados óptimos.

    Paul Grammont developed the reverse shoulder prosthesis, solving the problems obtained with previous prostheses, as it allowed the center of joint rotation to be medialized and lowered.

    This was a treatment option for patients with massive irreparable rupture of the rotator cuff, since due to its biomechanics it allows the lever arm of the deltoid to be increased, favoring its activation, thus trying to replace the function of the cuff.

    It is important to begin rehabilitation treatment after surgery as soon as possible to obtain optimal results.
