  El presente artículo es una pieza destinada a ser integrada al cuerpo de una investigación más amplia, que tiene como tema central al MST en el Municipio de Santana do Livramento, Rio Grande del Sur, Brasil, frontera con el Departamento de Rivera, Uruguay. La intención del texto ha sido rastrear el concepto de “mística”, su evolución histórica y sus definiciones desde el pensamiento de algunos autores que han direccionado su esfuerzo intelectual al abordaje de este tema. También se pretende establecer la actualidad del concepto en la experiencia contemporánea del MST, en un territorio acotado, tratando de comprender y explicar los mecanismos a través de los cuales la mística llega a convertirse en el elemento central de uno de los movimientos sociales más importantes del siglo XX. El objetivo del artículo es el de identificar algunas características de la agencia del militante del MST, e intersectarla en sentido complejo con la noción de mística y para ello se extraen datos del trabajo de campo. A través de tales recorridos semánticos se busca comprender los procesos de territorialización en la frontera Rivera-Livramento.

  This article is a piece intended to be integrated into the body of a broader investigation, whose central theme is the MST in the Municipality of Santana do Livramento, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, bordering the Department of Rivera, Uruguay. The intention of the text has been to trace the concept of "mysticism", its historical evolution and its definitions from the thought of some authors who have directed their intellectual effort to address this topic. It is also intended to establish the relevance of the concept in the contemporary experience of the MST, in a limited territory, trying to understand and explain the mechanisms through which mysticism becomes the central element of one of the most important social movements of the twentieth century. The objective of the article is to identify some characteristics of the agency of the MST militant, and to intersect it in a complex sense with the notion of mysticism, and for this, data from the field work is extracted. Through such semantic journeys, we seek to understand the processes of territorialization on the Rivera-Livramento border
