Resumen de Clara Porset y Lola Álvarez Bravo. Una alianza clave en la difusión de la tradición y modernidad mexicanas.

  La diseñadora Clara Porset y la fotógrafa Lola Álvarez Bravo son dos figuras fundamentales en la construcción de la modernidad mexicana basada en su herencia cultural y sus raíces vernáculas. Aunque existen diversas investigaciones sobre la obra de cada una, poco se sabe sobre su trabajo conjunto. A través del análisis de la documentación custodiada en los archivos de Clara Porset y Lola Álvarez Bravo, se propone, a continuación, profundizar en sus colaboraciones –en concreto, en la exposición “El arte en la vida diaria” y en una selección de proyectos de arquitectura–, con el objetivo de, por un lado, mostrar y poner en valor la búsqueda de un proyecto común, resultado de la comunión de sus intereses, y, por otro, sacar a la luz esta alianza clave para la difusión de la tradición y modernidad mexicanas, a través del diseño y sus fotografías.

  The designer Clara Porset and the photographer Lola Álvarez Bravo are two fundamental figures in the construction of Mexican modernity based on its cultural heritage and vernacular roots. Although there is a great deal of research on the work of each of them, little is known about their work together. By analysing the documentation held in the archives of Clara Porset and Lola Álvarez Bravo, we propose to examine the work of both - specifically, the exhibition "Art in everyday life" and a selection of architectural projects - with the aim, on the one hand, of showing and highlighting the search for a common project, the result of the communion of their political and aesthetic interests, and, on the other, of bringing to light this key alliance for the dissemination of Mexican tradition and modernity, through design and their photographs.
