Resumen de La nueva imagen de la rehabilitación urbana del centro de Portoviejo, análisis comparativo post terremoto

  Las ciudades están compuestas de imágenes que llenan a las personas de sentidos, recuerdos y emociones a su vista, colmada de recuerdos según la experiencia de quien observe. Con esta idea, la presente investigación se realizó con la finalidad de estudiar la nueva imagen urbana percibida por los ciudadanos de la rehabilitación del área central de Portoviejo. Se efectuó un análisis comparativo pre y post terremoto para mostrar los principales componentes considerados en la renovación del espacio público. Para ello, se emplearon mapas mentales y entrevistas; utilizando técnicas cualitativas e interpretación de la percepción de la población. Así, se llegó a construir un mapa con los elementos que caracterizan la nueva imagen de la ciudad.

  Cities are composed of images that fill us with senses, memories, and emotions to our sight, filled with memories according to the experience of the observer. With this idea, this research was carried out with the purpose of studying the new urban image perceived by the citizens of the rehabilitation of the central area of Portoviejo. A comparative analysis was performed before and after the earthquake to show the main components considered in the renovation of the public space. To do it, we employed mental maps and interviews; using qualitative techniques and interpretation of the perception of the population. Thus, a map was built-with the elements that characterize the new image of the city.
