Resumen de Efectividad de la acupuntura con estimulación manual en la cefalea migrañosa

  Introducción: la acupuntura es una terapia alternativa en la cefalea migrañosa.Objetivo: comparar la efectividad del tratamiento acupuntural con el farmacológico en pacientes con cefalea migrañosa del Hospital Clínico Quirúrgico Docente Celia Sánchez Manduley en el período septiembre del 2014 - septiembre del 2016.Método: se realizó un estudio cuasi-experimental en 224 pacientes atendidos en consulta de Medicina Tradicional y Natural del Hospital Clínico Quirúrgico Docente Celia Sánchez Manduley con diagnóstico de migraña desde el 1 de septiembre de 2014 al 31 de septiembre de 2016. Se dividió a los pacientes en dos grupos, a uno se le realizó tratamiento acupuntural con estimulación manual y al otro tratamiento farmacológico. Se aplicó el test de X2 para identificar si existía asociación entre la evolución buena y la aplicación de la acupuntura.Resultados: la evolución según comienzo del alivio de los síntomas fue buena en el grupo con acupuntura en el 58,9% de los pacientes en comparación con el 24,1% en el grupo control. En relación con la intensidad del dolor, fue buena en el 57,1% en el grupo con tratamiento acupuntural contra el 32,1% en el grupo control, y muestra una asociación significativa entre la evolución buena de los pacientes y la aplicación del tratamiento acupuntural, la cual se mostró también en la disminución de los días con cefalea y la mejoría en la calidad de vida de los pacientes.Conclusiones: la aplicación de la acupuntura resultó una terapéutica efectiva en el manejo de estos pacientes.

  Introduction: the acupuncture is an alternative therapy to the migraine headache. Objective: to compare the effectiveness of theacupunctural treatment and the pharmacological one in patients with migraine headache in the Educational Surgical Clinical Hospital Celia Sánchez Manduley in the period between September of the 2014 - September of the 2016. Material andMethodological Design: it was carried out a quasi-experimental study in 224 patients assisted in consultation of Traditional and Natural Medicine of the Educational Surgical Clinical Hospital Celia Sánchez Manduley with diagnostic of migraine from September 1 from 2014 to September 31 2016. It was divided the patients in two groups. In one of themit was carried out an acupunctural treatment with manual stimulation and in the othera pharmacological treatment. The test of X2 was applied to identify if it existedassociation between the good evolution and the application of the acupuncture.Results: the evolution according to beginning of the symptoms’ relief was good in the group with acupuncture in 58,9% of the patients; in comparison with 24,1% in the group control. In connection with the intensity of the pain, it was good in 57,1% in the group with treatment acupuntural against 32,1% in the group control, and it shows a significant association between the good evolution of the patients and the application of the acupunctural treatment, which was also shown in the decrease of the days with migraine and the improvement in the quality of the patients' life.Conclusions: the application of the acupuncture was an effective therapy in the handling of these patients.
