Prevención de la COVID-19 en pacientes del policlínico René Vallejo Ortiz

    Introducción: las labores de pesquisa permiten identificar grupos vulnerables para la COVID-19 y realizar acciones preventivas en el paciente y la familia.Objetivo: caracterizar la población pesquisada perteneciente al consultorio médico de familia (CMF) 15 del Policlínico René Vallejo Ortiz, en el período del 25 de marzo al 22 de mayo del 2020.Método: se realizó un estudio observacional, descriptivo y transversal con 162 pacientes perteneciente al CMF 15 del Policlínico René Vallejo Ortiz. Se estudiaron las variables: edad, sexo, grupos vulnerables y sintomatología, esta última referente a la COVID-19.Resultados: predominaron los pacientes de 60 años y más (40,1 %), el sexo masculino acumuló el mayor porcentaje de casos (50,6 %) y ambos grupos contaron con el mayor riesgo de contagio. Los pacientes asintomáticos representaron el 90,7 %. Durante el período de estudio ninguno resultó positivo a la COVID-19.Conclusiones: Los pacientes de 60 años y más, del sexo masculino, representan en las acciones de pesquisaje, un riesgo incrementado para desarrollar la COVID-19. Los pacientes pesquisados en general son asintomáticos.

    The screening activities allow to identify vulnerable groups for the COVID-19 and to carry out preventive actions in patients and families.Aim: to characterize the population screened belonging to the family doctor’s office (FDO) 15 of the René Vallejo Ortiz health centre, from March 25 to May 22, 2020. Methods: a cross-sectional study was conducted with 162 patients from FDO 15 at the health centre René Vallejo Ortiz. The variables studied were: age, sex, vulnerable groups, and symptomatology.Results: patients were predominantly 60 years and older (40.1 %), male gender accounted for the highest percentage of cases (50.6 %) and both groups had the highest risk of exposure. Asymptomatic patients represented 90.7%, during the study period none of the patients were positive for COVID-19.Conclusions: Male patients aged 60 years and older were at increased risk of developing COVID-19 by screening activities. The patients screened are generally asymptomatic.
