  El gobio de aleta alta Gobionelus oceanicus se informa aquí, por primera vez, en aguas dulces de Costa Rica. Un espécimen fue recolectado en la cuenca baja del río Pacuare, vertiente atlántica, Costa Rica. Con este nuevo registro, el número total de especies nativas de peces de agua dulce costarricenses llega a 253.

  The highfin goby Gobionelus oceanicus is herein reported for the first time in freshwaters of Costa Rica. One specimen was collected in the lower Pacuare River basin, Atlantic slope, Costa Rica. This new record brings the total number of Costa Rican native freshwater fish species to 253.
