En medio de la guerra civil española, 1937, durante la apertura de curso de la Universidad de Valencia, el catedrático de Historia Pere Bosch Gimpera fue el encargado de pronunciar la lección inaugural, titulada «España». Con ella iniciaba la reflexión sobre la historia de España que continuaría el resto de su vida, ya en el exilio.

In the midst of the Spanish civil war, 1937, and during the opening of the course at the University of Valencia, history professor Pere Bosch Gimpera was in charge of delivering the inaugural lecture, entitled “Spain”. With it he began the reflection on the history of Spain that he would continue the rest of his life, already in exile.
