  No solo se experimenta placer al leer un ensayo como el de Irene Vallejo, sino que además, en cierto sentido, nos ha devuelto la otredad. Casi sin exagerar digo «la otredad entera», pues hace del lector un partícipe más en la hazaña que constituye la memoria de la humanidad, nos trae el pasado y el futuro en un presente que se sigue escribiendo y recordando, y en ese sentido creo que solamente exagerando podemos ser fieles a lo que El infinito en un junco nos ha dejado y le hemos quedado debiendo.

  Not only is there pleasure in reading an essay like Irene Vallejo's, but also, in a certain sense, she has given us back our otherness. Almost without exaggeration I say "the whole otherness", because it makes the reader a participant in the feat that constitutes the memory of humanity, it brings us the past and the future in a present that continues to be written and remembered, and in that sense I believe that only by exaggerating can we be faithful to what El infinito en un junco has left us and what we have been left owing.
