  Expondremos el caso de una mujer de 77 años, autónoma y con antecedentes de caídas previas, que acude a urgencias del Hospital General por traumatismo en el brazo por tropiezo con un adoquín en la calle.

  La paciente será vista y tratada en dicho servicio inmovilizando el miembro afectado con férula braquipalmar y posteriormente será dada de alta con cita para valoración en 12 días con Traumatología.

  Durante el ingreso en urgencias, la paciente manifiesta síntomas de dolor, realizándose la valoración por parte de enfermería de las catorce necesidades básicas de Virginia Henderson junto con identificación y desarrollo de diagnóstico NANDA, NIC y NOC.

  We present the case of a 77-year-old woman, self-employed and with a history of previous falls, who comes to the emergency department of the General Hospital for trauma to her arm as a result of tripping over a cobblestone in the street.

  The patient was seen and treated in this department, immobilizing the affected limb with a brachy palmar splint, and was subsequently discharged with an appointment for assessment in 12 days with Traumatology.

  During admission to the emergency department, the patient manifested symptoms of pain, and the nursing assessment of the fourteen basic needs of Virginia Henderson was carried out together with the identification and development of NANDA, NIC and NOC diagnoses.
