Historia de la edición de la literatura infantil y juvenil argentina: breves recorridos en el siglo XX

    La presente propuesta traza un recorrido por ciertas trayectorias que han sido claves en la historia de la edición de la literatura infantil y juvenil argentina en el siglo XX. El desarrollo de estos itinerarios se concreta desde una perspectiva multidisciplinar. Cuenta con aportes de la historia, la sociología y la antropología. Se incorporaron enfoques teóricos y metodológicos considerados viables, tanto para la construcción de los datos como para su comprensión. Se trata de una mirada holística del entramado de redes que posibilitaron la creación de editoriales específicas, colecciones y publicaciones que se constituyeron en hitos insoslayables.

    En el abordaje del complejo universo de este género de escritura tan particular, emergen una variedad de figuras que ejercen diversas funciones. Son registrados como protagonistas no sólo los escritores y sus obras, sino otros agentes: en la producción y circulación de libros. Se encuentran involucrados ilustradores, editores, diseñadores, mediadores, libreros y una serie de instituciones que los congregan.

    Este artículo se funda en algunos núcleos centrales del tema trabajados minuciosamente en un estudio previo, que consistió en una historia social y cultural de la literatura infantil y juvenil argentina. Se exponen dos grupos generacionales, que se diferencian porque presentan opuestas particularidades: modos de edición, circulación, formas de leer, enseñar, difundir y valorar las obras. Para su comprensión, cada biografía colectiva manifiesta sus antecedentes y proyecciones en las dimensiones de un campo. Entre disputas y alianzas, explícitas o a través olvidos ex profeso, los agentes se entrelazan sosteniendo sus estandartes.

    This paper draws certain trajectories that have been essential in the history of the publishing of children's and youth literature in Argentina during the twentieth century. The development of these itineraries is materialized from a multidisciplinary perspective. It has contributions from history, sociology and anthropology. There are theoretical and methodological approaches considered valid that are incorporated into, not only for the construction of the databut also for its comprehension. This is a holistic viewpoint about the woven networks that made possible the creation of specific editorials, collections and published works that, nowadays, have built themselves as unavoidable milestones.

    In the approach of the complex universe of this particular literary genre, there is an emergence of a diversity of figures that hold different functions. The protagonists that take part in the production and circulation of books are not only the authors and their works but also other agents: illustrators, editors, designers, mediators, librarians and a number of institutions that assemble them.

    This text is founded on some of the core points that were researched meticulously in a previous study. It was about a social and cultural history of argentinian youth and children's literature. There are, then, exposed, two successive generational groups that differ between them because of opposed particularities: ways of edition, circulation, reading, teaching, spreading and gauging the value of each work. In order to attain its comprehension, each collective biography manifests its background and projections providing glimpses of the dimensions of the field. Between conflicts and alliances, sometimes explicitly and sometimes through ex-profeso oblivion, the agents interlock themselves supporting their banners.
