Resumen de The Calcaire du Berry, Paris Basin, France

François Menillet, Léopold Rasplus

  • The Calcaire du Berry (CDB) is a formation exposed near the southern and eastern border of the Paris Basin of France (Figure 1). The CDB fills aseries of small half-grabens in the area of Mehunsur-Yevre and Chateauneuf-sur-Cher. These half grabens formed within the Jurassic bedrock of the Paris Basin during the Priabonian-Rupelian (Lablanche, 1982). The CDB is dated as middle Priabonianto late Rupelian (late Eocene to middle Oligocene) through mollusks and charophytes (Jodot, 1947; Guillemin, 1976; Cavelier et al., 1979;Riveline, 1986) (see Table 1).
