  El objetivo general de la investigación fue analizar jurídicamente las causas del incremento de la criminalidad, Milagro, Ecuador. La presente investigación utilizó el método cuantitativo el cual produce datos descriptivos, que se originan por la recolección de datos. Apoyado en la revisión documental-bibliográfica. Además, se aplicó el método inductivo-deductivo. Se planteó además el método analítico-sintético. Se concluye que, la atención a la seguridad ciudadana y la convivencia pacífica requiere el tratamiento conjunto de todos los factores que incrementan la delincuencia, los cuales deben ser considerados de manera corresponsable entre los distintos organismos del Estado y la participación ciudadana. Sin embargo, ese tratamiento de los factores de riesgo de la criminalidad se dificulta, toda vez que no existe un número o una cantidad única de éstos.

  The general objective of the research was to legally analyze the causes of the increase in crime in Milagro, Ecuador. The present research used the quantitative method which produces descriptive data, originating from data collection. Supported by the documentary-bibliographic review. In addition, the inductive-deductive method was applied. The analytical-synthetic method was also used. It is concluded that the attention to citizen security and peaceful coexistence requires the joint treatment of all the factors that increase delinquency, which must be considered in a co-responsible manner between the different State agencies and citizen participation. However, this treatment of the risk factors of crime is difficult, since there is no single number or quantity of them.
