Uno de ellos es Brandon Sanderson, quien ya ha planteado nuevas fórmulas para sustituir a los arquetipos tradicionales de historias y personajes. The new wave of authors in fantasy has brought new and interesting changes to the current era. One of them is Brandon Sanderson, who is challenging the traditional archetypes of stories and characters. The three opening chapters of The Way of Kings create in the reader curiosity as they go through three isolated events in the history of Roshar. White’s emplotment, Hogan’s theory on narratives of war and Phelan’s definition of beginnings are key to my analysis of Sanderson’s strategy to draw the reader’s attention and to redefine several elements that were essential to epic fantasy stories.
