  The article analyses the role of voluntary work in religious organizations, specifically, in the Catholic Church, as well as the issues involved in it. From here emerg-es the question: what is the role of voluntary work in religious entities and which conflicts of interest emerge in the solidarity action of volunteers? The text focuses on the study of three kinds of work in religious entities: religious, voluntary and permanent employment status. The methodology is bibliographic and documentary, of an explanatory, qualitative and theoretical nature. The results obtained lead to the conclusion that it is necessary to identify the voluntary work in the activities performed in the institution and to overcome the ambiguities of function, rules and the isolation of the volunteer

  O artigo analisa o lugar do trabalho voluntário nas organizações religiosas, especificamente na Igreja Católica, bem como os desafios desse tipo de trabalho. Daqui nasce a pergunta: qual o lugar do trabalho voluntário nas entidades religiosas e que conflitos de interesses emergem na ação solidária dos voluntários? O texto enfoca o estudo sobre três tipos de trabalhos nas entidades religiosas, ou seja, o trabalho religioso, o voluntário e a relação de emprego. A metodologia é bibliográfica e documental, de caráter explicativo, qualitativa e de natureza teórica. Os resultados obtidos levam a concluir que há a necessidade de distinguir o trabalho voluntário nas atividades desenvolvidas na instituição e a superação das ambiguidades de função, regras e isolamento do voluntário
