  La calidad del agua para consumo humano es muy importante para todas las naciones porque afectan significativamente al medio ambiente, en especial a la salud de los seres humanos provocando efectos tóxicos, además de provocar enfermedades. El objetivo de la revisión es hacer un análisis de los efectos y comparar la Normatividad Mexicana con Normas Extranjeras como son the United States Environmental Protection Agency [EPA], Bureau of Indian Standards [BIS], World Health Organization [WHO] y así proponer recomendaciones, por lo que se realizó una revisión exhaustiva de artículos y documentos del contenido de metales en agua para dar las siguientes recomendaciones como: actualización constante de los criterios tomando en cuenta nuevas sustancias tóxicas prioritarias que afecten la salud, además del tiempo de exposición y dosificación.

  The quality of water for human consumption is of vital importance for all countries in the world, as it significantly affects the environment, especially the health of human beings, causing toxic effects, as well as causing diseases. In accordance with the above, the objective of this review article is to make an analysis of the effects and compare Mexican Regulations with Foreign Standards such as the United States Environmental Protection Agency [EPA], Bureau of Indian Standards [BIS], World Health Organization [WHO] and thus propose recommendations, so an exhaustive review of articles and documents on the content of metals in water was carried out to give the following recommendations such as: Constant updating of the criteria, taking into account new priority toxic substances that affect health, as well as exposure time and dosage.
