Resumen de Manual Práctico para evaluar la efectividad del manejo agroforestal en el corredor Sierra del Rosario-Mil Cumbres, Cuba

  Los especialistas del sistema nacional de áreas protegidas de Sierra del Rosario y Mil Cumbres que participaron en el proyecto conectando paisajes y productores agrícolas del corredor biológico que vincula ambas áreas protegidas, aplican de manera continua alternativas productivas basadas en el manejo agroecológico, para lograr el tránsito a la sostenibilidad. Uno de los desafíos que enfrentan, es saber, ante la ausencia de herramientas, si se han alcanzado las metas propuestas. El objetivo de este trabajo fue diseñar una herramienta que les facilite a los actores involucrados evaluar la efectividad del manejo agroforestal en fincas del corredor Sierra del Rosario-Mil Cumbres en función de la conservación de la agrobiodiversidad y el tránsito hacia la sostenibilidad. Tomando como antecedente la propuesta del “Sistema Agroecológico rápido de evaluación de calidad de suelo, salud de cultivos y el cálculo del Índice de Diversidad del Agroecosistema, se logró como resultado principal diseñar un Manual Práctico que facilitó a los actores involucrados realizar un primer diagnóstico, del tránsito a la sostenibilidad y el nivel de conservación de la agrobiodiversidad, en sus agroecosistemas.

  The specialists of the National System of Protected Areas of Sierra del Rosario and Mil Cumbres who participated in the project connecting landscapes and agricultural producers of the corridor that links both protected areas, continuously apply productive alternatives based on agroecological management, to achieve transit to the sustainability. One of the challenges they face is knowing, in the absence of tools, if the proposed goals have been achieved. The objective of this work was to design a tool that makes it easier for the stakeholders involved to evaluate the effectiveness of agroforestry management on farms in the Sierra del Rosario-Mil Cumbres corridor in terms of the conservation of Agrobiodiversity and the transition towards sustainability. Taking as a precedent the proposal of the “Rapid Agroecological System for the evaluation of soil quality, crop health and the calculation of the Agroecosystem Diversity Index”, the main result was to design a Practical Manual that facilitated the involved stakeholders to make a first diagnosis of the transition to sustainability and the level of conservation of agrobiodiversity, in their agroecosystems.
