    El propósito de este artículo es discutir la importancia de las bibliotecas de las prisiones como una  institución  educativa  y  de  rehabilitación,  el  derecho  de  los  prisioneros  a  los  servicios bibliotecarios, las barreras que afectan el acceso a la información y, finalmente, la censura de este tipo de institución.

    The purpose of this article is to discuss the importance of prison libraries as an educational and rehabilitative institution, the right of prisoners to library services, the barriers affecting access to information and, finally, the censorship of this type of institution.
