    Se entrega el primer registro de especies de Geometridae recolectados en la Reserva Nacional Isla Mocha (VIII Región, Chile) durante dos muestreos realizados entre los meses de septiembre y diciembre de 1998. Se establecieron 5 y 4 puntos muestreales respectivamente, ubicados en diferentes formaciones vegetales presentes en la isla. Los Geometridae fueron colectados usando trampa fototrópica. Se obtuvo un total de 141 imagos de Geometridae, pertenecientes a 12 especies, 3 de las cuales son desconocidas para la ciencia. Se discute la importancia del conocimiento de la entomofauna, presencia de las especies recolectadas y la posible relación de éstas con la vegetación de la isla. Se amplía la distribución de todas las especies identificadas hasta Isla Mocha

    A checklist of Geometridae found on Isla Mocha, collected between September and December 1998, is given. A total of nine sampling points were established in different areas of the island. Geometridae fauna was collected using light trap method. A total of 141 adults, belonging to 12 species, were obtained. Details of species and number of specimens found on each sampling point are reported. Three undetermined species are reporting to be occurring on the island. The first report and geographical distribution is established for all the species collected on the island. The importance of the entomological knowledge, species found on the island and their possible relationships with the vegetation of the island are discussed. Isla Mocha is recorded as part of the geographical distribution of all the species found in this study
