Cambio Climático y sus efectos sociales en el distrito de Tonosí, provincia de Los Santos

    El tema de cambio climático en la República de Panamá ha sido analizado desde diferentesaristas y la entidad regente en el tema ha convocado mesas de trabajo para elaborar laEstrategia Nacional de Cambio Climático 2050, Estrategia Nacional del Ambiente y el PlanNacional de Acción Climática (PNAC). Estos documentos establecen la implementación,seguimiento y evaluación de las líneas de acción sectoriales. Cabe resaltar, el país en el año2019 y 2021 evaluó el avance de la estrategia nacional de cambio climático y sus resultadosestán recopilados en el Informe Bienal de Transparencia Climática. En base a los documentosmencionados, este artículo se ha enmarcado en una de las amenazas climáticas máscomunes “inundaciones con afectación generalizada” y su impacto en el distrito deTonosí, Provincia de Los Santos durante el mes de noviembre de 2022; las cualesprovocaron afecciones a la salud humana, a la agricultura y a las infraestructuras. ElDistrito está catalogado como área de riesgo (muy alto); por consiguiente, se requiereconcientizar a la población, avanzar en la ejecución de los compromisos del PNACevaluando las tareas realizadas por las entidades involucradas y publicar mensualmentesus resultados en la página web de Mi Ambiente.

    The issue of climate change in the Republic of Panama has been analyzed fromdifferent angles and the governing entity on the subject has convened working groups toprepare the National Strategy for Climate Change 2050, the National Strategy for theEnvironment and the National Plan for Climate Action (PNAC). These documents establishthe implementation, follow-up and evaluation of the sectoral lines of action.It should benoted, the country during the years 2019 and 2021 evaluated the progress of the nationalclimate change strategy and its results are compiled in the Biennial Climate TransparencyReport. Based on the mentioned documents, this article has been framed in one of the mostcommon climatic threats “floods with generalized affectation” and its impact in theTonosí District, Los Santos Province on November 2022; which caused affections tohuman health, agriculture and infrastructures. The district is classified as a risk area (very high); therefore, it is necessary to raise awareness among the population, advance in the execution of the PNAC commitments, evaluating thetasks carried out by the entities involved and publish a monthly report with their results onthe Mi Ambiente website.
