    Pese a vislumbrarse lo que aparentan ser signos de igualdad, el sistema del arte se resiste todavía a incorporar plenamente en su relato a los “Otros” artistas. De hecho, la asimétrica representación de mujeres artistas en los museos de Artes Visuales continúa ilustrando la tendencia predominante, si se atiende a las estadísticas. En este artículo se ponen de relieve percepciones sobre la desigualdad real tomando como estudio de caso las exposiciones de carácter temporal celebradas en museos. El seguimiento de prácticas curatoriales concretas desarrolladas durante 2023 permitirá contrastar si las grandes narrativas del arte siguen constituyendo discursos de discriminación, o, por el contrario, se han introducido giros discursivos para tratar de reestablecer el equilibrio de género entre las creadoras y sus equivalente varones.

    Despite glimpses of what appear to be signs of equality, the art system still resists fully incorporating the “Other” artists into its narrative. In fact, the asymmetrical representation of women artists in Visual Arts museums continues to illustrate the predominant trend, if statistics are taken into account. This article highlights perceptions of real inequality, taking temporary exhibitions held in museums as a case study. The monitoring of specific curatorial practices developed during 2023 will allow us to contrast whether the great narratives of art continue to constitute discourses of discrimination, or, on the contrary, discursive turns have been introduced to try to reestablish the gender balance between female creators and their male counterparts.
