Entre la ruralidad y la metropolización: un proceso territorial de Huimilpan, Querétaro

    En este ensayo se exponen las relaciones entre Huimilpan, municipio rural del sur del estado de Querétaro, y la zona metropolitana de la ciudad de Querétaro. La metrópoli, por la cercanía y atracción que tiene, ha incluido a Huimilpan en sus funciones y actividades, produciendo efectos sociales y económicos en ese municipio, el cual, sin embargo, continúa siendo pobre y ha preservado lo rural a través de la ampliación de su estructura ocupacional y de los recursos económicos de los migrantes

    This essay presents the relations between Huimilpan, a rural municipality located in the south of the state of Queretaro, and the metropolitan zone of the capital of the same name. The proximity and attraction of the city area have caused the incorporation of Huimilpan into metropolitan activities and functions and thus have produced economic and social effects in this municipality. It continues to be poor, however, maintaining its rural characteristics by means of the broadening of the occupational structure and also through the economic resources of its emigrant population.
