El texto aborda un periódico de Pedro Feliciano de Cavia que constituye la primera aparición en la prensa de una escritura gaucha y gacetera. Cuatro Cosas, editor del periódico homónimo, representa, así, al primer gaucho gacetero de la prensa y la literatura argentina. Se trata de un periódico que nace para debatir públicamente con el Padre Francisco de Paula Castañeda en los primeros meses del año 1821. En medio de esa disputa, emerge un conflicto por la constitución del pueblo soberano, en conflicto en el propio contexto en el que el periódico se publica. Por último, brinda la condición anfibia de un gaucho que puede simultáneamente estar en el mundo de la oralidad y en el de la escritura, señalando un punto central para analizar la historia de los gauchos que, desde la literatura y la prensa, han constituido (en la ficción) instancias de cruce entre esos polos de la cultura.

The text addresses a newspaper by Pedro Feliciano de Cavia that constitutes the first appearance in the press of a gaucho and gazette writing. Cuatro Cosas, editor of the homonymous newspaper, thus represents the first gaucho gazette of the Argentine press and literature. It is a newspaper that was born to publicly debate with Father Francisco de Paula Castañeda in the first months of the year1821. In the midst of this dispute, a conflict arises over theconstitution of the sovereign people, in conflict in the very context in which the newspaper is published. Finally, it offers the amphibious condition of a gaucho who can simultaneously be in the world of orality and in that of writing, pointing out a central point to analyze the history of the gauchos who, from literature and the press, have constituted (in fiction) instances of intersection between these poles of culture.
