  • Resumen
    • This paper describes an approach to training users of interactive applications. The technique we propose is based on the use of task user models on interfaces that include a declarative model. Our approach allows us to offer the students explanations that are more dynamical than existing tutoring systems. These explanations follow the activity of the users and act by giving adequate answers to their actions. Moreover, we describe CACTUS, an interactive environment for the generation of tutoring courses based on the techniques we propose, that releases course designers of a significant part of the intense work implied by their development. CACTUS is based on a metaphor that represents courses as textbooks. From the point of view of the student, learning how to use an application is associated to reading a book about a subject and accomplishing the associated practical tasks.
