Los Sánchez de Tagle, un linaje de Santillana del Mar (1670-1750): consanguinidad, riqueza, comercio y primera globalización

    En este artículo pretendemos exponer la promoción de prominentes personajes vinculados a la familia Sánchez de Tagle y a Santillana del Mar en los virreinatos de Nueva España y Perú y en la capitanía general de las islas Filipinas, donde crearon entre los años 1670-1750 una red de riqueza y de comercio que representó una primera globalización mediante un sistema de transporte e información tan precario que sólo era factible si afectaba a metales preciosos y bienes suntuarios, o cuando los precios entre los lugares de origen y de destino eran abismales. Una familia que verá reconocidos sus méritos al servicio de la monarquía con los honores de cinco títulos de nobleza

    This article we intend to expose the economic promotion of prominent members of the Sánchez de Tagle family and the town of Santillana del Mar, in the viceroyalties of New Spain and Peru and the captaincy general Philippine islands, where they created between the years 1670 and 1750 a network of wealth and trade,which represented a first globalization through such a precarious transport and information system, that it was only feasible if it affected precious metals and luxury goods where being transport or when the difference in prices bwtween the places of origin and destinatión were abysmal. A family that will see its merits recognized in the service of the monarchy with the honors of five titles of nobility.
