    Aquesta contribució vol assumir amb prudència un risc hermenèutic: buscar identificar en el treball d'E. Stein els fragments d'una cosmologia o d'una filosofia de la naturalesa mundana que ella mateixa no va desenvolupar però que va tocar aquí i allà. Em limitaré aquí a un únic element estrictament steinià: l'empatia, que determinarem com a forma de cura i fins i tot d'arxicura, i que designa una comprensió afectiva-cognitiva no només de les experiències (i, per tant, del viure), ja que també subjau a la comprensió exhaustiva o explicativa dels vincles causals imaginats o figurats, i possiblement confirmats per l'experiència ordinària o científica.

    This contribution wants to take a prudent hermeneutical risk: to seek to identify in the work of E. Stein the fragments of a worldly cosmology or philosophy of nature that she herself did not develop but touched on here and there. I will stick here to a single strictly Steinian element: empathy, which we are going to determine as a form of care and even of arch-care, and which designates an affective-cognitive grasp not only of lived experiences (therefore of living), but which no doubt also underlies the comprehensive or explanatory grasp of imagined or figurative causal links, and possibly confirmed by ordinary or scientific experience.

    La présente contribution veut prendre prudemment un risque herméneutique: chercher à identifier dans l’œuvre d’E. Stein les fragments d’une cosmologie ou d’une philosophie de la nature mondaine qu’elle n’a pas elle-même développée mais qu’elle a effleurée çà et là. Je m’en tiendrai ici à un seul élément proprement steinien : l’empathie, que nous allons déterminer comme une forme de soin et même d’archi-soin, et qui désigne une saisie affectivo-cognitive non seulement des vécus (donc de vivants), mais qui sous-tend sans doute aussi la saisie compréhensive ou explicative de liens de causalité imaginés ou figurés, et éventuellement confirmés par l’expérience ordinaire ou scientifique.
