    La selección que se presenta constituye una pequeña muestra que ilustra la espiritualidad y devoción de mujeres, quienes se constituyen como sostenedoras de nuestras tradiciones. Después de desempeñarse alrededor de 20 años en el Centro de Estudios Folklóricos de la Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, Guillermo Alfredo Vásquez González tuvo la oportunidad de registrar con el lente fotográfico algunas de las tradiciones populares más representativas de los diversos pueblos que conforman nuestra nación. Parte de este trabajo documental sirvió para ilustrar la producción editorial del CEFOL. Sin embargo, en este acervo se publica material inédito.

    The selection that is presented constitutes a small sample that illustrates the spirituality and devotion of women, who are constituted as supporters of our traditions. After working for around 20 years at the Center for Folkloric Studies of the University of San Carlos de Guatemala, Guillermo Alfredo Vásquez González had the opportunity to record with the photographic lens some of the most representative popular traditions of the various peoples that make up our nation. Part of this documentary work served to illustrate the editorial production of CEFOL. However, unpublished material is published in this collection.
