Resumen de Atención de enfermería al cuidador del paciente pediátrico marroquí con diabetes mellitus tipo 1: proyecto de investigación

  En el presente trabajo de fin de grado se presenta un proyecto que persigue el desarrollo e implementación de un programa de salud dedicado al personal de enfermería de un hospital infantil en Aragón. El fin último del programa, consiste en mejorar la atención y el cuidado en los pacientes pediátricos marroquíes con diabetes mellitus tipo 1, en este caso centrándonos en el cuidador como persona responsable de la salud del/de la niño/a. Consideramos que, mediante el análisis de las barreras culturales existentes, será posible aprender a trabajar con ellas para conseguir una atención más igualitaria con estos pacientes. En particular, los objetivos planteados son mejorar la atención sanitaria del paciente pediátrico marroquí con diabetes mellitus tipo 1, indagar en las barreras culturales que detecta enfermería al tratar a pacientes pediátricos marroquíes, conocer la percepción de los cuidadores marroquíes de pacientes pediátricos con diabetes mellitus tipo 1 sobre la enfermedad, y elaborar, junto con el equipo de enfermería, un programa de educación para la salud destinado a cuidadores y pacientes marroquíes con diabetes mellitus tipo 1.

  Para alcanzar dichos objetivos, se propone un estudio cualitativo en el que se utiliza el método investigación-acción y mediante entrevistas a los participantes, observación y la implantación del programa, se van repitiendo las fases cíclicamente hasta conseguir los mejores resultados posibles.

  This final year dissertation presents a project aiming at developing and implementing a health program addressed to the nursing staff of a Children’s Hospital in Aragon. The main purpose of this programme consists in, improving the attention and care of Moroccan pediatric patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, focusing on the caregiver as the person responsible for the child’s health. We consider that analysing the existing cultural barriers and learning how to work with them, a more egalitarian care for these patients will be possible. In particular, the objectives sought are to improve the health care of the Moroccan pediatrics patient with type 1 diabetes mellitus, investigate the cultural barriers that nursing detects when treating Moroccan pediatric patients, learn about the perception of Moroccan caregivers of pediatric patients with type I diabetes mellitus about the disease, and develop, together with the nursing team, a health education program for caregivers and Moroccan patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus.

  In order to fulfill these objectives, a qualitative study is elaborated using the action research method and by means of interviews with the participants, observation and the implementation of the program, the phases are repeated cyclically until the best possible results are achieved.
