Cartas de llamada en expedientes malagueños del siglo XIX: Usos lingüísticos

    En el presente artículo abordamos el estudio de una serie de cartas privadas insertas en expedientes de Licencias de Embarque, escritas entre finales del siglo XVIII y el primer tercio del siglo xix por emigrantes oriundos, salvo alguna excepción, de Andalucía, con la intención de justificar la salida para América de sus familiares. Sus destinatarios son personas, mayoritariamente mujeres, residentes en la ciudad de Málaga o en su provincia. Por lo que se refiere al contenido, los documentos analizados presentan temas relacionados con la economía familiar, la vida social y la política nacional, motivos que son aducidos para justificar la necesidad de abandonar nuestro país. Son también recurrentes las menciones a la salud, los achaques o enfermedades, los trámites del viaje o la duración del mismo. Analizamos su configuración discursiva, los niveles de escritura relacionados con los niveles sociales de sus remitentes: los signos de puntuación, la unión o separación de palabras, el uso de los diferentes acentos. Destacamos asimismo los rasgos de marcación dialectal vinculados con la norma meridional tanto en el nivel fonético, con abundantes grafías delatoras de las pronunciaciones dialectales de los remitentes, como también en la morfología y el léxico.

    In this research we undertake the study of a series of private letters inserted in Shipping License files, written between the end of the 18th century and the first third of the 19th century by emigrants from Andalusia, with some exceptions, with the intention of justifying the departure for America of their relatives. Its recipients are people, mostly women, residents of the city of Malaga or its province. Regarding the content, the documents analyzed present topics related to the family economy, social life and national politics, reasons that are given to justify the need to leave our country. Mentions of health, ailments or illnesses, travel procedures or the duration of the trip are also recurrent. We analyze its discursive configuration, the levels of writing related to the social levels of its senders: punctuation marks, the union or separation of words, the use of different accents. We also highlight the dialectal marking features linked to the southern norm both at the phonetic level, with abundant spellings that reveal the dialectal pronunciations as well as in morphology and lexicon
