Debates y combates contemporáneos en torno al populismo. ¿De la ontologización del concepto a su crisis de inteligibilidad?

    Este artículo está consagrado al análisis de las conceptualizaciones más re-cientes sobre el populismo producidas en el campo de las ciencias sociales, desde una perspectiva histórica, conceptual y político-intelectual. A lo largo del texto, interrogamos la pluralidad de teorías sobre el popu-lismo hoy disponibles, así como el estallido de definiciones y de casos po-pulistas a nivel global desde una hipótesis de lectura (de carácter explora-torio). Según este supuesto, la situación política mundial, de emergencia, rearticulación o ascenso de nuevas (o no tan nuevas) derechas ha habilitado usos inéditos del populismo en el campo académico, para tratar de explicar la coyuntura actual. Creemos que esta inflexión, así como las conceptua-lizaciones sobre el populismo que conlleva, pueden comprenderse como síntomas de una posible crisis de inteligibilidad conceptual del populismo.Hacia el final del escrito, intentaremos ilustrar cómo las perspectivas sobre el populismo aquí rastreadas y analizadas, divergentes entre sí, implícita-mente comparten algunos argumentos centrales de los usos inéditos del concepto. Usos que, a nuestro modo de ver, tienen como correlato el apla-namiento analítico, la borradura de la especificidad y de la heterogeneidad de cada experiencia política y de la lógica del populismo en sí.

    This article tends to analyze the most recent conceptualizations of popu-lism, produced in the field of social sciences, from a historical, conceptual and political-intellectual perspective.Throughout the text, we interrogate the plurality of theories about populism available today, as well as the explosion of populist definitions and cases at a global level from a reading hypothesis (of an exploratory nature). Ac-cording to this the global political situation -of emergence, rearticulation or rise of new (or not so new) right- has enabled unprecedented uses of populism in the academic field to try to explain our reality. We assume that this inflection, as well as conceptualizations about the populism that it entails, can be understood as symptoms of a possible crisis of conceptual intelligibility of populism.Towards the end of the paper, we will try to illustrate how the perspectives on populism traced and analyzed here, divergent from each other, implicitly share some central arguments of the unpublished uses of the concept. Uses that, in our view, have as a correlate the analytical flattening, the erasure of the specificity and heterogeneity of each political experience and of the logic of populism itself.
