  • Resumen
    • This work analyzes issues related to the education of the deaf in Brazil, postulated from a teaching ideology supported in a bilingual perspective. This educational proposal is based on the principle of a linguistic policy that recognizes Sign Language as a language of instruction and mediation between deaf and hearing people and the teaching of the Portuguese language, in its written form. We aim to analyze the requirements of Brazilian legislation regarding the teaching of the Portuguese language, in the written segment, inserted in the proposal of a bilingual education. This is a documentary survey, which analyzes the legislation that supports bilingual education for the deaf in Brazil.
