Una puerta a Oíza. A partir de un tirador de Henry Sullivan

    A raíz de un Detalle de la reproducción de un tirador o pomo de una puerta en un edificio de H. Sullivan, intentamos ver cuatro puertas en cuatro edificios de Sáenz de Oíza. Será en las Viviendas en Puerta del Ángel, Casa en Talavera de la Reina, viviendas en Torres Blancas y Casa de Arturo Echeva-rría. Hablaremos de la Puerta, tema crucial en la enseñanza oral de Oíza, y veremos la importancia en su Arquitectura. El artículo presenta y hace un estudio crítico sobre la coheren-cia entre Detalle y Obra, y sobre la continuidad en la obra de Oíza, en estas casas separadas poco más de veinte años entre las primeras y la última. Si efectivamente podemos entroncar la obra de H. Sullivan como uno de los grandes maestros de la Escuela de Chicago dentro de un final de una cierta tradición en la Arquitectura, intentaremos situar la obra de Sáenz de Oíza, como arquitecto de la Tercera Generación del Movimiento Moderno. Acompañan la reflexión algunas palabras directas de Oíza que den coherencia al pensamien-to que ha transmitido a lo largo de cincuenta años como profesor de Proyectos en la Escuela de Arquitectura de Madrid. Entenderemos la Puerta y su tirador como elemento al que la vista prestará atención para ser tocado con la mano y abrir un mundo de Privacidad a la Ciudad. Intentaremos comprender si ese primer vistazo, mirada detenida, nos puede permitir presuponer una cierta idea de Arquitectura, a raíz del ámbito de Umbral que es pertinente crear para la relación entre espacio interior y exterior.

    Following a Detail of the reproduciton of a door handle in a building by H. Sullivan, we tried to watch four doors in four buildings by Sáenz de Oíza. It will be in the homes in Puerta del Ángel, House in Talavera de la Reina, Dwelling in Torres Blancas, and the House of Arturo Echevarría. We will talk about the Gate, a crucial topic in the oral teaching by Sáenz de Oíza, and we will watch its importance in the Architecture from him. The article shows and makes a critical study on the coherence between Detail and Building, and on the continuity in Oíza ́s ́work., in this houses separated by just over twenty years between the first and the last. If we can indeed connect the work of H. Sullivan as one of the great masters of The Chi-cago School within a certain tradition in Architecture, we will try to sitúate the work of Sáenz de Oíza, as an architect of The Third Generation of the Movement Modern. The reflection is accompanied by some words from Oiza that give coherence to the thoughts that he has transmitted over fifty years as a Pro-fessor of Project Design at the Madrid School of Architecture. We will understand the Gate and its handle as an element to which the eye will pay attention to be touched by hand, and open a world of Privacy to the City. We will try to understand if that first glance, a carefull look, can allow us to presume a certain idea of Architecture, following the threshold área that is pertinent to créate forhe relationship between interior and exterior space
