Resumen de Revisar los hitos: Gure Artea desde una perspectiva de género (1982-1995)

  El artículo analiza desde una perspectiva de género la primera fase del concurso Gure Artea (1982-1995), el certamen de arte más importante del País Vasco desde su fundación. Entre otras cuestiones, se revisa cuál fue proporcionalmente la participación de las artistas mujeres en las distintas ediciones, si el porcentaje de estas varió según el género artístico o si estos números se reflejaron en los premios; igualmente, se analiza el peso que tuvo el jurado de cada edición en las inercias de género identificadas. Asimismo, se reflexiona sobre las consecuencias del concurso: de qué forma promocionó de manera dispar la producción de los y las artistas de la época, y el peso que tuvo en la conformación y legitimación de la historiografía dominante del arte del País Vasco o en la configuración de la colección pública del Gobierno Vasco.

  The article analyses from a gender perspective the first phase of Gure Artea prize (1982-1995), the most relevant art competition in the Basque Country. Among other questions, the authors review the proportional participation of women artists in different editions, observing if these percentages varied depending on the artistic genre or if these numbers coincided with the awards. The article also studies the influence that the jury of each edition might have had upon the identified gender bias. On the other hand, it also reflects on the consequences of the competition: how it differently promoted the production of female and male artists of the time, and how the prize influenced the formations and legitimization of the dominant Basque art historiography, as well as the configuration of the Basque Government’s public collection.Keywords: art prizes, feminist critique, Basque sculpture, historiography, women artists.
