    Este estudio sobre el comportamiento de la actividad diaria y estacional de las especies de primates en cautiverio Ateles geoffroyi panamensis y Ateles goeffroyi robustus, se realizó en el zoológico del Parque Municipal Summit de la ciudad de Panamá, durante octubre y noviembre (estació lluviosa) del 2011 y febrero y marzo (estación seca) del 2012. Se utilizaron dos individuos por especie (hembra y macho), ubicados en jaulas de 355.60 cm x 177.80 cm, con un área de trampa de 129.54 cm y un anexo de 160.02 x 129.54 x 114.30 cm. Las actividades estudiadas en las dos especies de primates fueron: reposo, juego, forrajeo, cuidados del cuerpo, vocalización, acercamiento social, desorden alimenticio y agresión contra la cerca.

    Las actividades de comportamiento donde se encontró diferencias significativas entre las especies Ateles geoffroyi panamensis y Ateles fusciceps robustus, fueron: reposo, vocalización, desorden alimenticio, agresión contra la cerca y juego. Este estudio aportará información valiosa para el manejo de las dos especies confinadas a recintos de jaula en parque Municipal Summit.

    This study based on the daily and stational behavior activity of these species of primate, Ateles geoffroyi panamensis y Ateles goeffroyi robustuss in captivity, was carried-out at the Zoo of the Summit Municipal Park, of Panama City during October to November (rainy season), 2011 and February and March (dry season), 2012. For the study two individuals (male and female) of each species were used, held in cages of 355.60 cm x 177.80 cm, with a trap area of 129.54 cm and annexed  of 160.02  x 129.54 x 114.30 cm. The activities studied of the two species were: resting, games, forage, body care, vocalization, social approach, food disorder and aggression against fence. Significant behavior activity found between the two species: Ateles geoffroyi panamensis y Ateles fusciceps robustus, were: resting, vocalization, food disorder, aggression against fence and games. This descriptive study of the behavior of these species of primates, will help us learn about the daily and stationally behavior in captivity, and will give information to Summit Municipal Park, for the better management of these species in cages.
