Enseñanza andragógica para analfabetos tecnológicos

    En el siglo XX, el computador y las herramientas tecnológicas brindaron al ser humano habilidades que nunca se habían tenido; pero esas ventajas no fueron accesibles para toda una generación. Quienes al inicio de la década de los 90 habían terminado su educación formal, tuvieron muy poco o ningún acceso a esos avances y se vieron constantemente marginados en ese campo.  Las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TIC´s) cobraron mayor protagonismo, llegando a convertirse en un referente de gran importancia, caracterizando lo que hoy conocemos como Sociedad del Conocimiento y la Información.  El analfabetismo tecnológico es un problema con múltiples causas, siendo la pobreza una de las variables más importantes, limitando la posibilidad de asistir a la escuela o de acceder a las tecnologías de información y comunicación. El rezago educativo tecnológico, un problema estructural, debe ser atendido con políticas de diversa índole que deriven en la dotación de recursos económicos y en medidas de carácter pedagógico, andragógico e institucional, para poder resolverlo. La investigación intenta analizar los posibles factores que influyen en la visibilidad del analfabetismo tecnológico en Panamá, y el impacto de un curso andragógico de Introducción a la Informática sobre individuos clasificados como analfabetos tecnológicos. El estudio es cuanti - cualitativo, aplicado y exploratorio - descriptivo.  Se empleó un diseño de investigación cuasi – experimental antes / después y de paradigma positivista. Se concluye que la Andragogía, junto con las herramientas tecnológicas pueden emplearse para atender el problema del analfabetismo tecnológico.

    In the 20th century, the computer and technological tools provided human beings with abilities that had never been had before; but those advantages were not accessible to a whole generation. Those who had completed their formal education in the early 1990s had little or no access to these advances and were constantly marginalized in that field. Information and communication technologies (ICTs) gained greater prominence, becoming a very important reference, characterizing what we know today as the Knowledge and Information Society. Technological illiteracy is a problem with multiple causes, poverty being one of the most important variables, limiting the possibility of attending school or accessing information and communication technologies. The technological educational lag, a structural problem, must be addressed with policies of various kinds that derive in the endowment of economic resources and in pedagogical, andragogical and institutional measures, in order to solve it. The research tries to analyze the possible factors that influence the visibility of technological illiteracy in Panama, and the impact of an andragogic course of Introduction to Informatics on individuals classified as technological illiterates. The study is quantitative and qualitative, applied - descriptive. A quasi-experimental investigation design was used before/after with a positive paradigm.

    It is concluded that Andragogy with the technological tools can be applied to handle the technological illiteracy problem.
