    El presente artículo trata sobre los aportes que implica aprender latín jurídico para los abogados. El objetivo principal consiste en demostrar que el estudio del latín jurídico direcciona la formación humanística y perfil del abogado moderno. Además, un estudio compacto del latín jurídico no solo se centra en aprender la traducción o el significado de los vocablos jurídicos, sino que aporta y adapta, a través de su traducción, un sentido jurídico al momento de recurrir a una locución o a algún aforismo. Las grandes máximas que heredamos como legado del derecho romano y derecho medieval son aplicables en el contexto procesal actual, puesto que seguimos recurriendo a ellos en los litigios.

    This article deals with the contributions that learning legal Latin implies for lawyers. The main objective is to demonstrate that the study of legal Latin directs the humanistic training and profile of the modern lawyer. In addition, a compact study of legal Latin not only focuses on learning the translation or the meaning of legal words, but also contributes and adapts, through its translation, a legal meaning when resorting to a phrase or some aphorism. The great maxims that we inherit as a legacy of Roman law and medieval law are applicable in the current procedural context, since we continue to resort to them in litigation.
