Resumen de Variación de algunas características foliares de Avicennia germinans (L.) L. (Avicenniaceae) en un gradiente climático y de salinidad

  Se discute la relación existente entre el tamaño y la forma de las hojas de Avicennia germinans (L.) L. según las condiciones climáticas y de salinidad. Se encontró que en los sitios más salinos y áridos las hojas eran más pequeñas y de forma general modificada. Las hojas elípticas obovadas, las obovadas y con el ápice agudo obtuso u obtuso eran más abundantes en este tipo de ambiente.

  We discuss the relationship between the size and shape of leaves of Avicennia germinans growing in different climatic and saline conditions. Plants from drier sites and with higher salt concentrations showed a reduction of leaf area and modified general leaf shape. Eliptical-obovate leaves and those abovate with acute-obtuse or obtuse apices were more common in those environments.
