Se discute el origen, el desarrollo y la decadencia de la energética, una teoría física aparecida los últimos años del siglo XIX. Se presentan esquemáticamente las aportaciones de Georg Helm y de Wilhelm Ostwald a esa teoría. Finalmente, se esbozan las discusiones habidas en la reunión de Lübeck de 1895.

The origin, development and decadence of energetics is discussed, a physical theory that appeared in the last years of the 19th century. The contributions of Georg Helm and Wilhelm Ostwald to this theory are presented schematically. Finally, the discussions at the Lübeck meeting of 1895 are sketched.
