En la sección de presentación del Manual de Derecho de Familia, el autor menciona que hace 25 años, a través de una investigación, buscaba responder a la siguiente pregunta: ¿Por qué el tratamiento jurídico a la familia? Respondiendo a dicha interrogante, Farith Simon destaca la importancia del estudio del Derecho de Familia en perspectiva histórica, comparada y teórica, precisando los conceptos mediante un debate normativo. Por lo tanto, aquella pregunta ha servido como catalizador de ideas y justificaciones para estudiar las diversas instituciones jurídicas que forman hoy en día parte del Derecho de Familia en Ecuador.

In the presentation section of the Family Law Manual, the author mentions that 25 years ago, through research, he sought to answer the following question: Why legal treatment of the family? Responding to this question, Farith Simon highlights the importance of studying Family Law in a historical, comparative and theoretical perspective, specifying the concepts through a normative debate. Therefore, that question has served as a catalyst for ideas and justifications to study the various legal institutions that are part of Family Law in Ecuador today.
