El desarrollo rural local en una zona cacaotera de Tabasco, México: propuesta de un modelo de innovación.

    La presente comunicación tiene como objetivo principal hacer un análisis del proceso de innovación, vinculándolo con el desarrollo rural y local, teniendo en cuenta los conocimientos endógenos y exógenos, y la propia experiencia campesina en la zona. El proceso de innovación y su relación con el desarrollo territorial, se aborda desde el concepto del aprendizaje social y se analiza a partir de la cadena de valor del cacao en una región de Tabasco (México).

    El análisis sobre el valor añadido y el enfoque de clusters, se hace teniendo en cuenta la interacción y la cooperación entre los distintos agentes económicos y de la innovación:

    proveedores, clientes, competidores o centros de investigación entre otros. Por otra parte, en el proceso de innovación se destacan los aspectos de la interdependencia y la complementariedad entre actores, así como las experiencias locales en investigación y desarrollo tecnológico.

    Tras un diagnóstico operativo del cacao tabasqueño y sus derivados en el ámbito agroindustrial regional, se analiza el proceso de innovación generado en toda la cadena, incluyendo el concepto de “comercio justo” como aspecto innovador de la comercialización.

    Entre las principales conclusiones, se establece que es factible el diseño de un modelo de innovación como aprendizaje social para la actividad cacaotera en Tabasco, aplicable para las condiciones de la zona de estudio y con impacto en el desarrollo local.

    The present communication has as objectives to make an analysis of the innovation concept, linking it with the rural development at local level taking into account the knowledge inside of and outside of the study area and the own rural experience in the area; as well as to analyze the chain of value of the cocoa. The topic innovation is approached in connection with the evolution toward the territorial and local development; likewise an analysis is made on the added value and the clusters focus, taking into account that the interaction and the cooperation are fundamental in the relationships among the different economic agents such as suppliers, clients, competitors or investigation centers among others. The aspects of interdependence and complementary are emphatized in a process where the actors compete but in turn they need the products of the competition to be able to innovate.

    We consider important the basic aspects of the knowledge so much external as local as learning processes to arrive to the innovation, for which some local experiences are presented in investigation and technological development that have to do with the transfer process and adoption of technologies. It is also approached the concept of social learning, their practice and application in the study area.

    In this work an analysis of the chain of value of the cocoa, both, outside and inside México is carried out, specifically in Tabasco, as well as brief operative diagnose and an analysis of the demand of the tabasqueño cocoa and their by-products, as well as of their agroindustry in the regional environment. In the aspect of the sale of the cocoa and their by products, it included the concept of "Fair Trade" as an innovative aspect of commercialization.

    Among the main conclusions, we set down that it is possible to design an innovation model for the cocoa activity in Tabasco, applicable for the conditions of the study area.
