  Este artículo investiga las condiciones históricas que definieron la situación social de las mujeres en San Juan de la Frontera entre finales del siglo XVIII y principios del XIX. Se apelará a los aportes teóricos de la nueva historiografía del derecho y política.Metodológicamentese implementaráundiseñocualitativo. Las instancias de recolección, organización y procesamiento de fuentes de carácter mediadose ejecutarán técnicamenteconla observación documental. Como propósito se plantea un abordaje amplio y reflexivo de diferentes dimensiones historiográficas tales como los recursos heurísticos empleados en las fuentes éditas, sus procedimientos metodológicos, el panorama histórico que exponen sus aportes desde la nueva historia política y jurisdiccional y su reflejo en contribuciones historiográficas. Las conclusiones demuestran una nutrida, aunque incipiente, construcción de significados sobre las condiciones femeninas en el periodo tardocolonialsanjuanino desde una perspectiva no solo generizada, sino también, descripta analíticamente desde otras categorías, como la racial.

  This article investigates the historical conditions that defined the social situation of women in San Juan de la Frontera between the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century. It will appeal to the theoretical contributions of the new historiography of law and politics. Methodologically, a qualitative design will be implemented. The instances of collection, organization and processing of mediated sources will be executed technically with documentary observation. The purpose is a broad and reflective approach to different historiographical dimensions such as the heuristic resources used in the published sources, their methodological procedures, the historical panorama that exposes their contributions from the new political and jurisdictional history and their reflection in historiographical contributions. The conclusions show a large, although incipient, construction of meanings about the feminine conditions in the late colonial period of San Juan from a perspective that is not only gendered, but also analytically described from other categories, such as racial.
