Resumen de Relación entre la Aplicación de Gratuidad y Redistribución de la Matrícula en Instituciones de Educación Superior en Chile (2016-2022)

El presente artículo busca analizar qué efectos ha tenido la aplicación de la política pública de gratuidad en la matrícula de la Educación Superior en Chile, desde su aplicación en 2016 hasta 2022. Conforme a esto, se pretende estimar tanto cómo se ha distribuido el conjunto de estudiantes matriculados en el sistema de Educación Superior en cuanto se adscriben nuevos establecimientos a este beneficio estatal, así como también comparar la evolución de las instituciones y carreras a las cuales acceden estudiantes con y sin gratuidad. Para esto, se realizó un análisis estadístico descriptivo a partir del levantamiento de información disponible en el Centro de Estudios del Ministerio de Educación. No sólo se centró en universidades, sino también en Institutos Profesionales y Centros de Formación Técnica.

The present article aims at analyzing which effects have the free-of-charge public policy generated in the enrolment of the Superior Education in Chile, since its application in 2016 until 2022. According to this, it pretends both to estimate how have distributed the set of enrolled students in the Education Superior system, as new establishments are affiliated with this state benefit, as well as to compare the evolution of institutions and degrees which the with or without free-of-charge students get into. For this, it made a descriptive statistical analysis from the information gathering available in the Study Centre of Education Ministry. In this case, not only focused on universities, but also in Professional Institutes and Technical Education Centers.
