    En este trabajo examino las razones que David Lewis ofrece a favor de la tolerancia en sus trabajos “Mill and Milquetoast” y “Academic Appoint-ments: Why Ignore the Advantage of Being Right?” En el primer apartado expongo y discuto la concepción de la tolerancia que critica Lewis, a saber, la de J.S. Mill. En el segundo apartado expongo y discuto las principales razones de Lewis a favor de la tolerancia y las ventajas que, de acuerdo con él, tiene su postura frente a la de Mill. En el tercer apartado discuto algunas de las consecuencias filosóficas y políticas que parecen seguirse de la propuesta de Lewis y de sus críticas a la concepción de la tolerancia de Mill

    In this work I examine the reasons offered by David Lewis in favor of tolerance in his works “Mill and Milquetoast” and “Academic Appointments: Why Ignore the Advantage of Being Right?” In the first section I expose and discuss the conception of tolerance that is the target of Lewis’s objec-tions, namely, the conception defended by J.S. Mill. In the second section I expose and discuss Lewis’s main reasons in favor of tolerance and the advan-tages that, according to Lewis, his position has in relation to that of Mill. In the third section I discuss some of the philosophical and political consequenc-es that seem to follow from Lewis’s proposal and from his criticisms of Mill’s conception of tolerance.
