  Objetivo: determinar los resultados de la implementación de la iniciativa Hearts en Gibara, 2023. Materiales y Métodos: se realizó un estudio transversal en el municipio de Gibara de la provincia de Holguín, en el período de enero a mayo del 2023. Se compararon los resultados de las áreas de salud que han iniciado la implementación de la iniciativa Hearts, respecto a las variables de cobertura de atención y control de la hipertensión, en el primer trimestre del 2023. Resultados: la prevalencia de la hipertensión arterial en Gibara se encontró al 35,03 % y en Velasco el 30,45 % y en el municipio 32,23 %. En el área de salud Velasco se encontró alto el Índice de desempeño en 15 equipos básicos de salud para un 29,41 % y en Gibara en progreso en 45,45 %. El índice de madurez de procesos de Hearts en las dos áreas de salud se encuentra incipiente, en el municipio está al 41,67 % Conclusiones: existen dificultades tanto en el desempeño como en la competencia profesional para la ejecución del programa de hipertensión arterial en las áreas de salud, disminuyendo la calidad en su cumplimiento para el control de la hipertensión.

  Objective: to determine the results of the implementation of the initiative Hearts in Gibara, 2023. Materials and Methods: it was carried out through a study in the municipality of Gibara of Holguín ́s province, in the period of January to May of the 2023. The results of the establishments of health were compared that have begun the implementation of the initiative HEARTS, regarding the variables of covering of attention and control of the hypertension, in the first trimester of the 2023. Results: the prevalence of the HTA in Gibara was 35.03 % and in Velasco 30.45 % and in the municipality 32.23 %. In the area of health Velasco was high the acting index in 15 basic teams of health for 29.41 % and in Gibara in progress in 45.45 %. The Index of maturity of processes of Hearts in the two areas of health is incipient, in the municipality it is to 41.67 %. Conclusions: difficulties exist as much in the acting as in the professional competition in the execution of the program of arterial hypertension in the areas of health, affecting the quality in their execution for the control of the hypertension.
