El acuerdo es un componente esencial dentro del procedimiento de desarrollo del aprendizaje-servicio. La mayoría de las instituciones académicas superiores en los Estados Unidos que ofrecen cursos de aprendizaje-servicio utilizan su propio formulario de aprendizaje-servicio (Service-Learning Plan and Agreement Form - Berea College CELTS); ( “Site Agreement” - Tulane University)... Sin embargo, en algunas ocasiones, este documento se firma sin estar redactado adecuadamente o sin tener en consideración las consecuencias que puedan surgir del mismo. El propósito de este documento es establecer un Acuerdo de Aprendizaje-Servicio que respalde y aclare las reglas básicas y expectativas de los estudiantes, profesores y agentes externos en la comunidad a la hora de trabajar juntos para definir el objetivo del proyecto, las responsabilidades y los posibles beneficios para cada una de las partes y (McDonald, J., & Dominguez, L. A., 2015 p. 53). Por lo tanto, este artículo propone un nuevo Acuerdo de Aprendizaje-Servicio que sirva como acuerdo modelo para futuros cursos de aprendizaje-servicio o una guía sobre cómo preparar este acuerdo para satisfacer las necesidades de todas las partes. Este artículo concluye con el documento propuesto para que otros profesores puedan implementarlo en sus cursos de aprendizaje-servicio.

A service-learning agreement is an essential component within the service-learning development procedure. Most of the higher academic institutions in the United States who offer service learning courses use their own service learning form (Service-Learning Plan and Agreement Form - Berea College CELTS ); ( “Site Agreement” - Tulane University, etc.) However, on other occasions, this document is signed without proper wording or consideration of the consequences that can arise. The purpose of this document is to establish a Service-Learning Agreement which supports an understanding of the needs and expectations to clarify how the students, faculty and the external placement in the community will work together to define the project purpose, the responsibilities of each part and the potential benefits for all (McDonald, J., & Dominguez, L. A., 2015 p. 53). Therefore, this article proposes a new Service-Learning Agreement to serve as a model agreement for future service-learning courses or a guide on how to prepare this agreement to meet all parties’ needs. This article concludes with a document template that other faculty can implement in their service learning courses.
