    La romana siempre ha sido una cultura que ha despertado enorme interés en la población amante de la Historia. Son conocidos los importantes trabajos sobre arquitectura romana o referente a la numismática del periodo. En las siguientes páginas tratamos un tema no tan conocido, aunque durante los últimos años ha aumentado de forma considerable su conocimiento. Se trata de la superstición, la magia, y los elementos de protección utilizados por una sociedad supersticiosa, como el fascinum o la higa, y su perduración en los momentos actuales.

    Roman culture has always been a culture that has aroused enormous interest in the history-loving population. The important works on Roman architecture or referring to the numismatics of the period are known. In the following pages we discuss a topic that is not so well known, although in recent years its knowledge has increased considerably. It is about superstition, magic, and the protective elements used by a superstitious society, such as the fascinum or the fig, and their persistence in current times.
